Marrea was born in 2023, from a love for the beach, the sun, surf culture, and Italy.
Founders Istra and Michelle share years of experience in the fashion industry. After running their own fashion agency for over eight years and working closely with brands and retailers, they felt a growing desire to build something of their own, a brand shaped by their lifestyle, travels, and love for effortless design.
Traveling between cities and coastlines, they noticed the same need again and again: a bag that is non-seasonal, versatile, and beautiful. Something you can carry everywhere, all year round. From workdays to weekends, from city life to beach escapes.
Marrea was created to answer that need.
Our bags are handwoven from signature neoprene, interlaced with care and inspired by the textures, colors, and rhythms of Italian beaches. Lightweight, flexible, each piece is designed to move with you. Neoprene is a material well known for wetsuits, strong and durable, practical for everyday life, refined enough to elevate your look.
The name Marrea comes from the Italian word for “the tides” symbolizing the movement of the sea, the constant flow between places, moments, and moods. It reflects the spirit of the brand: fluid, effortless, and always in motion.

Our themes and color names are inspired by sun-faded umbrellas, salty skin, vintage postcards, lazy lunches, and that feeling you get when you don’t really want the day to end. A little playful, a little nostalgic, always easy to wear. Marrea is about modern versatility with a Mediterranean soul.
In a short time, Marrea has been picked up by buyers from all over the world and is now part of the selection of beautiful boutiques and well-known department stores. A journey we’re incredibly grateful for and still slightly pinching ourselves about.
